About

The study on “Monitoring methodologies for web-accessibility in the European Union” is aimed to provide an up-to-date description of the situation of web-accessibility monitoring across 30 countries. Evidence on current practices in web accessibility monitoring will be gathered on a pan-European scale with help of a network of national correspondents. Moreover, selected monitoring approaches will be validated for verifying compliance with national provisions on web-accessibility. All evidence generated throughout the study”s work programme will be synthesised and recommendations derived for the development of a possible pan-European monitoring approach, as proposed in the Draft Directive on the accessibility of public sector bodies’ websites which was adopted by the European Commission on 3rd December 2012.
